Newcastle United Not for Sale and Owner Mike Ashley Deny Interest In Buying Rangers

Newcastle United have moved to quash talk of a possible sale with Goal.com also confirming that Mike Ashley has no intention of buying Glasgow giants Rangers.

The 50 year old billionaire has been something of a controversial character at St James’ Park during his seven years in charge of the Magpies but it seems the Sports Direct mogul has no in desire to leave the club any time soon.

The Premier League side released a statement on the matter so as to nip speculation in the bud;

“The truth is Mike Ashley remains committed to Newcastle United,”

“For the avoidance of doubt, this means that for the remainder of this season and AT LEAST until the end of next season, Mike Ashley will not, under any circumstances, sell Newcastle United at any price.”

On the subject of an interest in buying Rangers Ashley released a brief statement:

“I will not be participating in the open offer [to buy Rangers] which closes at 11am today, Friday, September 12, 2014.”

However it is understood that manager Alan Pardew’s career in charge of Newcastle United does hang in the balance with this source claiming that the under-fire boss is just one heavy defeat away from being fired.
