Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been keeping a close watch on the 19-year-old over the past few months with reports emerging this week that he has made the player one of his top targets for the new year.

And now the Daily Star reports that Arsenal are optimistic of grabbing the player when the window re-opens, with the club set to meet his £9.4million buy-out clause amount.

Munir is still on a youth contract in Catalonia, hence why the clause is set so low, but the Spaniards are desperately trying to keep hold of him by offering him a fresh extension.

Playing prominently in the number 10 role, he has been tipped to enjoy a big future in the game.
