Arsenal Look Set To Lose Major Transfer Target To AS Roma In January

Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of this young Frenchman, but could Roma be about to pip him to this one?

PSG’s Adrien Rabiot was pursued this summer by Arsenal, Chelsea, and a host of other clubs. According to the Mirror however, Serie A side Roma could come out on top, after sporting director Walter Sabatini confirmed his side’s interest.

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season, and Wenger has a history of waiting for players to run down their contracts to get them on a free. Roma have no intention of going down that route though and could sneak in ahead of the Arsenal boss.

“He is a player that we would like and we will discuss him properly, we will not wait to sign him on a free transfer,” said Sabatini.

“If we have the privilege and the desire to negotiate for Rabiot, we will do so in agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.”

Rabiot is unhappy with his lack of game time at PSG and is looking to make a move. Arsenal are in dire need of a combative midfielder, so on paper the two seem ideally suited.

Where do you think Rabiot will end up?
