Sevilla loanee Iago Aspas has aimed a dig at Premier League giants Liverpool by claiming “I feel like a footballer again”, according to Inside Futbol.

The Spaniard returned to his homeland this summer after a dismal year at Anfield where he spent the majority of his time warming the bench.

Aspas joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo last summer, but found competition for a starting spot tough and soon found himself on the fringes.

And after desperately seeking a move in the transfer window, the Europa League champions came calling to bring him on board.

“Since I came to Sevilla, I set the goal of feeling like a footballer once again,” he said.

“With games and minutes I will gain confidence.”

However, the striker is still waiting to make his debut for the La Liga side, having sat on the bench for their first two games of the season, though he did feature against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup clash last month.
