Guillem Balague claims that Ronaldo could be set for an Old Trafford return.

There has been a new twist in the developing transfer saga that is linking Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to Old Trafford, with respect Spanish football expert Guillem Balague suggesting on this evening’s Revista de La Liga on Sky Sports that “everything is in place” for the player to return to Manchester.

Balague seemed to confirm recent reports suggesting that Ronaldo is unhappy at the Bernabeu, particularly with the club’s decision to sell players such as Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria this summer, and feels like playing for the club is “work”, whereas he felt like a “kid” during his time at Old Trafford.

The most shocking revelation of Balague’s time talking about Ronaldo on the weekly La Liga review show, however, was the claim that “everything is in place”, in terms of the financials and Ronaldo’s desire to return, for the deal go through.

Whilst Balague certainly stopped short of claiming that any deal was imminent, with Real Madrid likely to put up stern resistance to any plan to lure their star man away, it is likely to get United fans excited that the deal they dream of may yet go through.
