28-year-old Kaboul has been a caretaker skipper every game so far this season, but the Tottenham manager’s decision to make it permanent has left fans befuddled and enraged.
Many were equally confused by the Argentine manager’s choice to make Emmanuel Adebayor vice captain (albeit jointly with French international captain Hugo Lloris), with most believing Lloris to be a better candidate for the captaincy.
Supporters took to twitter to voice their outrage, slating not only Kaboul, but the manager for his bizarre captaincy selection and transfer targets.
Kaboul is a terrible choice. Fazio a reserve then? Captaincy decision and incoming transfers have been poor from Pochetino.

That decision re Captaincy sums us up as a club at the moment. Kaboul shouldn’t be in our first team & has six months left on his contract.

Im speechless that Kaboul is captain and adebayor is vice. What a joke. None of them deserve to be in the starting line up let alone captain

After a stellar performance with Southampton last year, there were high hopes for Pochettino when he was first announced as Spurs’ manager. After a rather up and down start however, fans and pundits alike are beginning to suspect that we are seeing the same old Tottenham with a different manager.
