Aston Villa have confirmed that the contract of manager Paul Lambert has been extended until 2018, following the club’s excellent start to the new Premier League season.

Villa are second in the Premier League table, after winning three and drawing one of their first four matches. Last weekend, they defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield, and the club have now moved to secure the long-term future of their boss.
The 45-year old has been with Villa since joining from Norwich City in 2012, and has now extended his stay at the club for another four years.
Despite his recent success, he has won just 30 of his 92 games in charge, securing consecutive 15th place finishes.
