The 25 year old Ivory Coast international has confirmed that there was interest in him over the summer but insists he is focused on the job at hand at the Liberty Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers is apparently keen on the £19m rated forward, who netted 25 goals in his debut campaign with his south Wales side, and Arsenal and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the former Vitesse Arnhem man.

Swans boss Garry Monk will hope that interest in his services does no affect Bony’s game and the striker insists he wants to replicate his form from last term and is not willing to allow speculation to affect his game, stating;

“Now it’s over,”

“Before we were talking, but now it’s over so I have to focus on the team.

“There were some chances (that I might leave). I waited and nothing happened so now I am just focused on the team.

“My head is okay. I just want to repeat or do better than last season.”

Rodgers brought in Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli to help fill the void left by Luis Suarez’s departure to Barcelona so would he really feel the need to dig deep once again?
