Everton make their long-awaited return to continental action this evening when they host Bundesliga outfit Vfl Wolfsburg at Goodison Park in the group stage of the 2014/15 Europa League.
It is also a first taste of the competition for manager Roberto Martinez, who departed Wigan Athletic before their experience of Europe, and it is yet to be seen how seriously he will take the Europa League.
The Toffees got their Premier League season up and running at the weekend with a convincing 2-0 win at West Bromwich Albion, that saw Romelu Lukaku score his first goal since joining the club on a permanent basis this summer.
Visitors Vfl Wolfsburg are sure to provide stern opposition to Everton, with the ambitious outfit having some particularly dangerous players, including defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo and former Chelsea star Kevin de Bruyne, whilst former Arsenal man Nicklas Bendtner could also feature in attack.
