Fulham Sack Felix Magath, Kit Symons Appointed As Caretaker Manager

Fulham have sacked Felix Magath following the club’s dreadful start to the 2014-15 season.

The Cottagers are currently bottom of the Championship table, having lost six of their opening seven league games this term.

Kit Symons has been appointed as Magath’s successor on a caretaker basis and he will take charge of the first team in Saturday’s home clash with Blackburn Rovers.

Magath’s stint as Fulham boss was a short one. He only got the job on February 14 and was in the hot-seat for just 20 games, guiding his troops to four wins and four draws.

The 61-year-old was Fulham’s seventh ‘permanent’ manager since 2007.

Speculation regarding the club’s next full-time boss has already begun.

The bookmakers have made Newcastle United’s under-fire leader Alan Pardew the early favourite, while Chris Hughton and Symons are also at fairly short odds.

Tim Sherwood, Tony Pulis, Glenn Hoddle, Neil Lennon and Alan Curbishley are thought to be in the mix too.
