The England under-19 international ha been tipped to become the next Steven Gerrard, prompting Liverpool to make a £3.5m bib, rising to £8m with add ons, over the summer, but the Dons knocked them back.
The Anfield club have been given renewed hope though, as boss Robinson has conceded that Alli will eventually leave his hometown club, and that a January move could be possible.
“Dele will continue to be linked with some of the world’s biggest clubs and it’s inevitable that there will be a time when we will have to let him go, whether that be in January, next summer or whenever,” Robinson said.
“However, for the time being, he remains an MK Dons player and we’ll continue to enjoy watching him progress week-in, week-out here at stadium:MK.”
Alli’s form earned him a contract extension until the end of 2017, but a club with deep pockets could tempt the League One club to part with their star youngster.
