5. Eric Dier – Tottenham Hotspur
The English born defender has spent the bulk of his short career so far in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon. The training he received in mainland Europe has so far been evident for all to see, as he fails to show any sort of mental frailty that has blighted English defenders over the years. Classy, continental, and great going forward, he is a long way off commanding a regular spot in the side, but there is no rush to make him a first choice centre-back, but the sooner he is in and around the national set up the better.
