The 19-year-old was strongly linked with the Gunners during the summer transfer window, though a move never materialised as his current club continue to try to persuade him to sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes.

However, a lack of first-team opportunities looks to have persuaded Rabiot not to renew his deal, leading to interest from the likes of AS Roma, AC Milan and Juventus as well as Arsenal.

Rabiot is one of the most highly rated young talents in French football at the moment, and Arsene Wenger is determined to win the race for his signature in January as he would likely be available for a reduced fee as he would be allowed to walk away on a free transfer next summer.

Arsenal have reportedly already made contact with the player’s representatives to try and persuade him to choose a move to the Emirates Stadium over other clubs, but there remains strong interest and offers from Italy as well.

Arsenal have also been strongly linked with Rabiot’s PSG team-mate Edinson Cavani.
