Louis van Gaal seems surprisingly calm after Manchester United’s shock 5-3 loss against Leicester.
Louis van Gaal spoke about Manchester United’s morale destroying 5-3 defeat at the hands of Leicester City earlier today, telling reporters “it happens”.

After beginning to look somewhat like their old selves Manchester United raced into a 0-2 lead, but were immediately pegged back by Nigal Pearson’s men.
Van Gaal’s men soon restored their lead, and looked comfortable at 1-3, but a total collapse of the Dutchman’s defence saw them concede four times, finishing with ten men and losing 5-3 to the home side.
“We had complete control,” van Gaal said.
“How is it possible that you give this game away? Leicester has proved already in former games that they have strong character. But when it’s 1-3 and you can play the game with more possession until the 90 minutes, then you cannot do these kind of things. ”
“It’s always possible in football. I have a long career so I have this experience in Barcelona once already. You cannot imagine, but it happens.”
“I don’t want to criticise personal errors because that happens in a game. We didn’t keep the ball in possession, that was our main mistake I believe. We created a lot of chances.”
“We make fantastic goals. That’s a plus, but we lost the game, that’s the most important thing so you cannot be happy because of the first part.”
Many had tipped United to be back to their old selves after their win against QPR, but until they sort out their defence it looks like van Gaal’s side will continue to struggle.
