What A Mistake: Tottenham Missed Out On Buying World Class Star For Just £1m

Tottenham could have signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang…

Reports in the Daily Mail have today revealed that former Spurs coach Tim Sherwood saw him play in France three years ago and was hugely impressed, only for the North London club’s hierarchy to veto the move.

Dortmund paid £11.5m to St Etienne for Aubameyang in the summer of 2013, and the Gabon international has rewarded the faith of the Bundesliga giants by netting 21 goals in 54 games thus far.

Since the departure of Robert Lewandowski for Bayern Munich earlier this year, Aubameyang has become Dortmund’s first choice striker, and has scored five times already this year – including the second goal against the Gunners in a 2-0 win last Tuesday.
