This source cites a Daily Star report that expands on the healthy financial situation the north London side finds itself in, which in turn offers Gunners boss Arsene Wenger the opportunity to spend big in January if he so wishes.

The German international’s Westfalenstadion contract apparently includes a very tempting £20m release clause, one that makes a move for the 25 year old all the more tempting though one would have to wonder just how Wenger would look to use Reus in his current starting eleven.

Having brought in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck to boost his attack Wenger would appear to be fairly covered in terms of his options in the final third and may be better off looking to strengthen his defence or bringing in a defensive midfielder.

That said, clearly Reus is a world-class performer and as such one can see why Wenger would be keen on acquiring his services, especially at the price quoted.

Reus is an attacking midfielder who could perhaps be converted into a striker with the Borussia Monchengladbach man being deadly in front of goal, scoring 43 goals in 92 appearances for Dortmund.
