The former Gunners midfielder has wanted to get in touch with the Frenchman but he hasn’t received any correspondence from his old boss since Arsenal rejected the opportunity to re-sign the Spaniard before Chelsea made a move for him.

Although Fabregas admits that the pair haven’t spoken recently, he is hopeful that he can resurrect his friendship with Wenger.

”No, he [Wenger] hasn’t spoken to me since I came back,” Fabregas said.

”It was the kind of relationship I always would have liked to keep.
”‘But I’m sure once everything dies down a bit in the future we will talk. There is no problem.

”I’ll always be grateful to him whatever happens.”

The Spanish international is now focusing all of his attention on helping Chelsea win silverware, even though the Frenchman acted as a mentor to him during his days at the Emirates.

”On his [Wenger’s] birthdays, for his 1,000th game, he always had a text message from me,” he said.

”But I don’t expect anything from anyone in life, positive or negative.

”I understand his decision and, now I’m at Chelsea, I’ll do everything to make this club win.”

Fabregas has been in excellent form for Chelsea, setting up six goals so far this season while also forming a devastating partnership with Diego Costa, helping the former Atletico Madrid man score 7 goals in 5 matches.
