Theo injured his wrist at training on Monday morning and didn’t travel with the squad as they flew to Adelaide for the match.

“Theo will stay behind he’s got a knock to his wrist and we’re not risking anybody in these games,” Brisbane manager Mike Mulvey said.

The former Norwich City and Melbourne Victory man’s absence means a probable debut for former England youth international Jamie Young who joined the club in the off-season from Hayes & Yeading United.

Brisbane will also be without Shane Stefanutto and Matt McKay, with Mulvey not taking a gamble on their fitness just three weeks out from the A-League season opener.
