Spanish giants join chase for United target.
Real Madrid are the latest club to be linked with a move for exciting PSV winger Memphis Depay, according to Spanish source Fichajes.net.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly rated attacking players in Europe at the moment, having shone in the Eredivisie last season and for the senior Dutch national team at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have previously shown a strong interest in signing this promising wide-man, but Real Madrid are now keeping an eye on his progress as they look to compete for this top talent.
The Spanish giants are currently spoilt for choice in the attacking midfield department, having signed James Rodriguez in a big-money deal from AS Monaco this summer, whilst also having the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale to choose from in that part of the pitch.
Depay could struggle to get into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven, but Real want to ensure they keep an eye on the best emerging talent in the game, with some fans unhappy with the departure of Angel Di Maria to Manchester United this summer.
Depay could also be brought in to replace Isco, who is being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool.
