21-year-old Thauvin has been linked with the Gunners for some time, with the young Frenchman seeming like a typical Arsene Wenger signing.

Desipte Marseille having allegedly agreed a deal for the attacking midfielder with Inter Milan in the summer, he insists he has no plans to leave the Staade Velodrome or France just yet.

“The president had contact with Inter, but I don’t know exactly what happened,” said Thauvin.

“Things were clear for the president and me: my departure was out of the question, so honestly I haven’t studied the offer.”

“It’s flattering [interest from elsewhere]. [But] I am a Marseille player and they are a big club too. Here I feel really good.”

It is fantastic to see loyalty from a player so young, something you rarely see in football these days. Arsene Wenger may not be so pleased at the youngster’s desire to stay however.
