Liverpool Boss Discusses Speculation Linking Real Madrid With Sensational Starlet Raheem Sterling

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is confident that Raheem Sterling will stay at Anfield for the foreesable future after reports in the past few days linked the young starlet with a move to Champions League holders Real Madrid, Goal.com reports.

The 19-year-old is now one of  Rodgers’ most valuable players after putting in some excellent performances for both Liverpool and England over the past 18 months.

This sublime form has lead to speculation that Carlo Ancelotti would like to bring Sterling to the Santiago Bernabeu as Los Blancos continue their policy of signing the most exciting attacking talent in the world.

Rodgers admits that speculation about the youngsters future is inevitable due to his recent form but is confident that the attacker won’t be going anywhere.

“You could link Raheem with every club in the world at the moment,” Rodgers told reporters. “I sit easy with it.”

The former Swansea boss also addressed the issue of Sterling’s fitness after he played the whole 120 minutes of Liverpool’s penalty shoot victory over Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

“Raheem is a super fit boy,” he added. “Playing 120 minutes in midweek won’t be a problem for him.”
