The midfielder will be absent for the Villa game and the Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon, before heading into the international break.

Ramires has been a constant figure in Mourinho’s team so far in 2014/15, making five appearances in all competitions and scoring once and providing three assists.

The Brazil international joined the Blues from Benfica in 2010 for £17m and has since played 201 times for the club, winning the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League during that time.

Mourinho is a big fan of the South American due to his ability to play in a variety of positions in midfield and his tireless work ethic.

However, Ramires is currently behind both Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic for a place in the starting XI and the Guardian reports that Real Madrid are interested in signing the 27-year-old.

Current Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti originally signed the Brazilian for the West Londoners.
