The La Liga side, who are set to be taken over by Singapore billionaire Peter Lim, are ready to offer £30m for the Man United playmaker having played his part in the loan captures of Alvaro Negredo and Rodrigo from Man City and Benfica respectively.

The 26 year old played his part in Man United’s thumping 4-0 win over QPR but was then left out of Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven for fixtures against Leiceter City and West Ham, which may leave the former Chelsea man considering his options.

Man United paid a then club record fee of £37.1m to sign Mata in January and could apparently accept offers of around £30m for Mata and the Spanish international may be open to a move back to the Mestalla.

Whilst Mata may not have proven a spectacular signing as yet the pint sized attacking midfielder has nonetheless racked up eight goals and four assists in 18 Premier League starts.

Valencia have started the current campaign well, winning four of their opening five La Liga fixtures.
