The Wales international now joins club captain Mikel Arteta on the sidelines ahead of their crucial Champions League clash against Turkish giants Galatasaray on Wednesday and Chelsea next weekend.

Arteta will not be back before Arsenal’s match against Hull City on Oct??18 after limping off with a hamstring strain in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Jack Wilshere will also be assessed ahead of Wednesday’s meeting, as his ankle is still to be tested.

The news is the latest in a long line of injury blows for Ramsey, who has done well to rebuild his career in the wake of such serious problems, including a broken leg.

The Welsh national side will also be concerned, as he will now likely miss out on their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Cyprus and Bosnia & Herzegovina next month.
