Zlatan Ibrahimovic Slams Former Barcelona Boss: PSG Star Blames Poor Tactics For Champions League Failure

The Swede disagreed with Pep Guardiola’s tactics on many occasions.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has blasted former boss Pep Guardiola, saying the Spaniard was the reason Barcelona didn’t win the Champions League in 2010, the sole season that the PSG front man was at the Nou Camp, Goal.com reports.

The Catalan giants were holders of the competition and had signed the Swede to bolster their attacking ranks and replace Samuel Eto’o, who had moved to Inter Milan.

Although Barca retained La Liga, they weren’t able to defend their Champions League title, falling to Jose Mourinho’s Inter at the semi final stage and Ibrahimovic has pointed the finger at the current Bayern Munich manager for the failure.

“We had the best team in the world, for sure. But we failed to win the Champions League because of bad decisions from someone,” he told Canal +, heavily hinting that Guardiola was to blame.

“But it’s like that. It’s nothing to complain about today. You have to forget it because I had great moments at Barcelona.”

Despite playing for the likes of AC Milan and Juventus, Ibrahimovic has never won the Champions League but won’t consider his career a failure if he never wins the competition.

“I’d be very happy if I could win it, of course. After your career, you look at how many trophies you have. If I win, it’d be great, if not, it wouldn’t be a failure.”
