The 19-year-old is one of the most highly rated young attacking players in Europe, having shone in Serie A since making the move to Lazio from Barcelona in 2011.
The Spaniard is now out of favour in the club’s first team this season, and is thought to be considering an exit as he stalls on signing a new contract at the Stadio Olimpico, with his current deal set to expire in 2016.
This could mean Lazio will accept offers in the region of £15m for his signature this January, and Keita will no doubt have plenty of suitors if he is available for this relatively low price, with Arsenal and Liverpool mentioned as his main admirers from England, as well as Premier League champions Manchester City.
Keita’s pace, dribbling ability and eye for goal make him a highly appealing prospect, and Liverpool in particular look in need of further additions to their squad after a difficult start to the season since losing Luis Suarez to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
