French champions the latest side to sniff around Sterling.

French champions Paris Saint Germain are the latest major European power to line up a move for Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling, according to tomorrow morning’s Independent on Sunday, with the teenage winger stalling on new contract talks at Anfield.

The Reds are particularly keen to tie up a new deal for Sterling, who has started the season in electric form for club and country, due to reported interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid, but the intervention of PSG, a club who could blow Liverpool out of the water financially, could come as a major blow to the Merseyside outfit.

Sterling was back to somewhere near his best against West Bromwich Albion this afternoon as the Reds ended a tough run in the Premier League, but joy from that result will be tempered by this latest news, with increased speculation linking Sterling with a major continental move likely to mean that the 19 year-old is less inclined to quickly sign the offer that Liverpool have put on the table.

The Reds have been keen to extend Sterling’s deal, giving him a bumper wage rise in the process, as it expires within the next three years – a timeframe that could give the likes of Real and PSG real leverage when it comes to muscling on one of the planet’s finest young players, with the French side reportedly willing to treble the player’s wages in a bid to lure him to the Parc des Princes.
