Ahead of the Gunners’ trip to Chelsea, Barton was quoted as saying that this current side lacks a spine and character, in reference to their recent poor record against the other Premier League big sides.
However, the 32-year-old now claims his words have been exaggerated, saying he was only comparing this Arsenal team to the all-conquering ‘Invincibles’ side of 2003/04 rather than saying they are a poor side.
What I said about Arsenal taken out of context. I believe the current side lack spine and character when compared to the Invincibles team.
