The 25 year old New Zealand international is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and as such may be available ‘on the cheap’ in January as the Hammers look to avoid losing the Kiwi on a free transfer.

Liverpool’s poor back-line arguably cost the Anfield side a Premier League title last term and things have not improved this season.

Rodgers has seen his side secure just one clean sheets in ten competition in all competitions and Reid may be a cost-effective option to consider.

Arsenal and Man United are also keen on Reid who may well be tempted by a move to any of this Premier League trio and there is no denying that the tough tackler has shown enough over the past 18 months to suggest he is more than capable of taking a ‘step-up’.

Liverpool spent massive sums over the summer and therefore a bargain purchase of a quality player such as Reid may well appeal to the Merseyside outfit’s owners.
