Stamford Bridge side look set to bring in Brazilian wide-man.
Chelsea are reportedly set to sign Barcelona defender Dani Alves in January according to the Metro.
By all accounts Blues boss Jose Mourinho has personally requested that his side make a move for the Brazilian international, who’s Nou Camp contract expires next summer, with Chelsea set to beat Man United and Liverpool to the signing of the former Sevilla star.
Chelsea will look to bring in the 31 year old as soon as the transfer window re-opens with negotiations expected to be swift.
Alves is into his seventh season at the Catalan club and has won a host of honours but has publicly spoken of his imminent move to the English top tier, with seemingly a move to west London on the cards.
A move for Alves may well leave Serbian Branislav Ivanovic wondering about his future at the club, the virtual ever present currently being Mourinho’s first choice right-back option.
Alves may well be attracted by the presence of national team colleagues Ramires, Willian and Oscar at the Premier League table topping outfit.
