Reds close to tying young winger down to new deal.
Liverpool are confident that Raheem Sterling is on the verge of extending his contract at Anfield despite recent speculation that he could leave the club, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The England international has been a top performer for Brendan Rodgers’ side in the last year or so, establishing himself as one of the most promising young players in Europe and attracting interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the process.
However, sources close to the club have revealed that Liverpool are ‘relaxed’ about the ongoing contract negotiations and believe that there is an eagerness from Sterling to remain on Merseyside to continue his remarkable recent progress.
This will come as a welcome boost to the Reds, who were forced to sell star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona this summer, leading to some disappointing results on the pitch at the start of this season.
Sterling, 19, is now seen as one of the team’s most important players and Rodgers will not have wanted to see another big name snapped up by a major European club.
Meetings are expected to take place in the next fortnight, which should see Sterling commit his future to the club.
