Manchester United are set to drop long term transfer target Arturo Vidal after disciplinary issues see him dropped from Juventus squad…

Arturo Vidal was dropped by Juventus for their top of the table clash with Serie A rivals Roma after the Chilean reported late to training following a 5am party session, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport.

A long term target for Manchester United, it is believed that the Premier League side may look elsewhere for the dominant midfielder they need so badly after Vidal’s latest disciplinary issues.

The 27-year-old is widely considered to be one of the best in the world in his position, but with a colossal price tag being slapped on by his current club it may prove too much of a risk for United if his attitude is brought into question.

The combination of a late night out and turning up late for training the following morning prompted Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri to drop the box-to-box man from his squad, despite a crucial game against Roma approaching. The Serie A champions managed to get the win without Vidal in the end, albeit under very contentious circumstances.

He is likely to be fined for his actions as well as being dropped, whether that will deter him from future late nights is questionable.

Manchester United and Louis van Gaal may turn their attention to Roma’s Kevin Strootman after this story as emerged, with the Dutch manager knowing the player well from his time with the national side.
