Wojciech Szczesny has said that Jack Wilshere can be a “complete player”, if he can score a few more goals every season.
Wilshere himself said that he is playing as well as ever after finally overcoming his injury problems.
The talented England international has struggled with injury since his breakthrough, but has started five of Arsenal’s seven Premier League matches this season, and says that the run of games is helping his form.
“I’ve missed a lot of football so I’m just trying to play as much as I can, train as much as I can and I’ve always said that when I get fully fit you’ll see the best of me. I said at the start of the season that it was going to take some time to get back to my best, Ever since my first injury, it’s always taken a run of games – probably between five and 10 – to get back to my best.”
Wilshere was one of Arsenal’s most impressive players against Chelsea on Sunday, helping his team create some early chances. However after Eden Hazard’s penalty turned the game in Chelsea’s favour, Wilshere and his fellow midfielders were muscled out of the game by the athletic presence of Nemanja Matic and second-half substitute Jon Obi Mikel.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, Wilshere’s return to form and fitness has coincided with the loss of Aaron Ramsey to a hamstring injury. Ramsey is out for at least three weeks, and some have speculated it could be even longer.
