Chelsea’s John Terry Taunts Arsenal And Fellow Title Rivals Over Lack Of Defensive Strength

Blues skipper believes rivals should be running scared this season.

Chelsea defender John Terry has said that title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City don’t compare to his side defensively and will ultimately pay the price come the end of the season, the Daily Star reports.

The Blues defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the weekend and did so by taking their best chances on the day whilst remaining air tight at the back – keeping one of the league’s finest attacking sides in the Premier League.

And Terry reckons that could give them the edge against their Premier League title rivals – who are not looking as solid defensively.

“You have to look at everyone, Manchester City, United, Arsenal and they are all conceding goals,” he said.

“That’s because of the quality in the League – it is getting better, it’s as simple as that. We are more attacking this year, but defensively we are now very solid.

“Everyone was questioning the defence early on in the season, but it’s going to happen.

“There are so many good teams and individuals in the league, we are going to concede goals. The important thing going forward is we have goals in us.

“As long as we’re not conceding too many we’ll be OK. We have had a few clean sheets on the bounce, defensively we have been doing very well.

“It’s not just the back four, it’s also people like Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle coming back and being able to go forward as well. That’s the key.”
