Spurs paid £26m to bring in Valencia forward Roberto Soldado just over a year ago and then watched on as he steadfastly failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane.

The experienced Spanish international bagged just six Premier League goals in his debut season at the north London club, four of which were penalties, and boss Mauricio Pochettino is yet to hand the player a top tier start this term.

This source believes Soldado may head to Sevilla in a move that would see South American Carlos Bacca, who has been a massive success since his move to Spain, move to north London.

Bacca racked up 21 goals in his debut season in Andalusia and has already scored four La Liga goals this term.
