He was so good back then… what happened!?
England captain Wayne Rooney has never been overly fond of Liverpool FC.
He began his career with Merseyside neighbours Everton and now skippers fierce rivals Manchester United.
However, when Rooney was just 10 years old, he scored at Anfield while wearing the red of Liverpool.
He was playing for a Liverpool Schoolboys District Under-11 team when he bagged a beauty in the 1997 Barnett Shieldhouse Cup final at the Anfield Road end.
Despite being among the youngest lads on the pitch, Rooney bullied the opposition defenders with his superior strength and aggression, before smashing a fierce shot home from outside the box.
He scored a hat-trick in this match.
