The 2014 World Cup winner looks set to leave the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu after becoming fed up at the lack of first team opportunities in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The Italian’s first choice midfield pairing is Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, meaning Khedira normally has to settle for a place on the bench.

The midfielder’s contract runs out at the end of the season and due to his position in Ancelotti’s plans, it appears that he won’t sign a new deal, meaning he will be available for free.

The Gunners appear to be front-runners for his signature and reports suggest that they have already agreed personal terms with Khedira and may try to sign him in January by agreeing a cut price transfer fee with the Champions League holders.

However, that maybe complicated by Milan’s new found interest in the former Stuttgart man. The Italian club have excellent relations with Madrid, meaning they could agree terms with the Spanish giants before the North Londoners do.

Unfortunately, the Rossoneri aren’t currently in the Champions League, which probably means Khedira’s preferred destination is still the Emirates Stadium.
