The Ivorian was reportedly the subject of a £12.5 million offer from the Reds in the summer, but it was rejected by the South Wales club.

Bony had an excellent first season at the Liberty Stadium and although he has struggled so far this campaign, he did score his first goal of the new term in Swansea’s last match against Newcastle United.

Despite all the speculation surrounding his future, the striker insists he is happy to be a part of Gary Monk’s side and is even open to extending his stay with the club.

“If I wanted to go, I would have done,” Bony was quoted by Goal.

“But there has never been anything other than speculation about the departure in Monaco, Liverpool or Tottenham.

“I’m fine in Swansea. It is even possible that I extend my contract.

“Admittedly, I have been less effective than last season, but I’m not worried. I play in a team that is ranked high, and there is less pressure on the attackers.

“People trust me, and for a striker, you know how it works. You might just need one or two goals to get going again.”
