Sporting Kansas City can confirm their play in the MLS’s post-season tonight

Their opponents in the Sporting Park stadium tonight are Chicago Fire, and on paper they shouldn’t cause the hosts too many difficulties.

The Fire have failed to win any away games in their last six attempts and they currently lie in 9th place in the Eastern Conference with 33 points, eight ahead of last-placed Montreal Impact.

Sporting KC have been a bit inconsistent recently but still sit six points clear of sixth-placed Toronto, meaning a win tonight will guarantee them a place in the post-season. They will be without suspended left-back Seth Sinovic, while Jorge Claros is on international duty with Honduras and cannot play.

Probable Line-ups:

Sporting KC – Gruenebuam, Joseph, Besler, Ellis, Juliao, Feilhaber, Nagamura, Olum, Dovale, Dwyer, Zusi

Chicago Fire – Johnson, Palmer, Hurtado, Soumare, Cochrane, Shipp, Larentowicz, Alex, Joya, Earnshaw, Amarikwa

Kick-off at Sporting Park is at 8:30pm EDT / 5:30pm PDT
