Mexico played only their second friendly on home soil in two years last night.
Mexico typically play friendlies in the US to help exploit marketing opportunities. Last night’s 2-0 win over CONCACAF rivals was only their second at home in two years.
Rather than play in the famous Azteca, the team travelled to the poor southern state of Chiapas to play in the Estadio Zoque. ‘El Tri’ won 2-0 thanks to goals from Chicharito and Oswaldo Alanis.
Fans were eager to see their team in action – just look at the passion they put into the national anthem!
