The 21-year-old has shown on regular occasions that he has the potential to be one of the big names in football in the near future, but under Inzaghi he is not getting the playing time he needs to fulfil that potential.

Back in 2012 Shaarawy was in superb form, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 22 appearances. Since then he has suffered from a number of injuries however, restricting him to just six appearances in the 2013/14 season.

With the departure of Mario Balotelli this season, it looked like the youngster would get a chance to to be the main man upfront.

Inzaghi seems to prefer new acquisitions Fernando Torres and Jeremy Menez however, with El Shaarawy making just three appearances this campaign so far.

Berlusconi believes that the Italian international is a special talent and needs more playing time.

“El Shaarawy is one of Milan’s stars, I would play him all the time. But rightfully, coach Inzaghi needs to make the team play at its best,” he told the Milan channel.

He is allegedly a long-term target for a host of Premier League clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea and if he continues to be left out in the cold at the San Siro then he may be open for a move to the top flight of English football.
