The Italian striker joined the Reds for £16m this summer,and although he didn’t enjoy a particularly successful first spell in England with Manchester City, a lot is expected of the 24-year-old this time around.
He has scored just one goal so far this season however, despite making eight appearances for the Merseyside club.
Balotelli has looked his usual disinterested and lackadaisical self in many of these showings, suggesting that not much has changed since his last stint in the Premier League.
His poor form has seen him dropped from the Italy squad as well, but despite expecting more from the former AC Milan striker fans at Anfield are still showing faith in their summer signing.
In response to a banner displayed by the fans which read “I have nothing to declared except my genius” depicting the controversial forward, Balotelli took to Instagram to state his desire to succeed at Anfield.
“I know all of you expect more from me,” he wrote.
“More goals especially and more “genius”, but give me time and I’ll show it is true.”
