25 year old German international Ozil is currently out injured having received a fair amount of criticism for his ineffective displays since moving to the Emirates Stadium in a club record deal back in September 2013.

Ozil’s performances have been average to say the least and he could well struggle to walk back into the Arsenal starting eleven when he returns from his knee injury and Man City are readying a £35m bid for his services whilst Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the former Real Madrid man.

Man City are well versed in the art of snapping up Arsenal players having brought in the likes of Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and most recently Bacary Sagna from the north London side in recent seasons.

Mesut is currently Arsenal’s highest paid player though Man City are ready to offer the World Cup winner a deal that would see his earnings jump from £140k to £200k a week.

Arsene Wenger isn’t likely to be interested in accepting Man City’s offer but if Ozil issues a transfer request then Arsenal will be forced to consider selling the playmaker.

There is growing speculation that Yaya Toure will leave Man City and could be heading for PSG and were he to do so then Pellegrini would look to bring in a big name signing, with Ozil now leading his list of preferred targets.
