Dani Alves will be out of contract with Barcelona at the end of the season.

The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool will have to pay full-back Dani Alves a massive £250,000 a week contract if they want to sign the Brazilian next summer, the Daily Star reports.

The 31-year-old’s contract at Barcelona will expire next summer and it looks unlikely that the Catalan giants will offer him a new deal, meaning he will be able to leave for free.

Alves has already said that he would be interested in a move to the Premier League, sparking a race for his signature among several English clubs.

However, that interest has now cooled somewhat due to his huge wage demands.

Manchester United were thought to be most interested in his signature but have bulked at his demands and won’t even consider making him one of their highest earners.

Captain Wayne Rooney currently earns the most at Old Trafford with a £300,000 a week contract.

The likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are also unlikely to give into the defender’s wage demands meaning he may have to forget about a move to the Premier League or ask for less lucrative contract.
