Fast forward to today and the side sit seventh with 39 nine points and with no way of catching fifth-placed Columbus Crew on 46. A miserable run of form saw them pick up just three points from six games, and thus marked one of the most spectacular collapses in MLS history.
The icing came on Saturday night when they lost 3-2 to the aforementioned Crew in front of their own fans, despite leading 2-0 with only twelve minutes remaining.
