Mazzarri is under huge pressure following Inter’s poor start to the season which has left them languishing 10th in the Serie A table.

The Nerazzurri hierarchy are already thinking about possible replacements for the Italian should the worst happen and Moyes is reportedly very high up on their list of potential managerial candidates.

It is rumoured that the Scot has been invited to watch the match against Napoli as a guest of the club and will attend the San Siro alongside his brother.

If the 51-year-old does end up becoming Inter boss, he will join up with former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, who left Old Trafford to join the three time Champions League winners during the summer but has endured an awful start with his new club.

The Serb has already been sent off in an Inter shirt and has also conceded two penalties.

Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson as United boss in 2013 but endured a horrible season with the Red Devils and was sacked in April this year after defeat against form club Everton.
