Redknapp knows the 30 year old Togo international well from his time in charge of Spurs and is keen to beef up his faltering attack and will hope to either sign the former Arsenal man on an outright basis or failing that, on a loan deal.

Adebayor saw a return to form under Tim Sherwood last term, netting 11 goals in 20 Premier League starts, but has managed just one goal thus far this term and if Mauricio Pochettino brings in a fresh striking option of his own in January then perhaps the Argentine would consider offers for the White Hart Lane star.

QPR have scored just four goals in seven Premer League games this season.
