Tuesday’s biggest stories for the Red Devils.
Aston Villa will have to double Ron Vlaar’s wages to stop him joining Manchester United in January
The future of the centre-back remains in doubt at Villa Park as the Red Devils maintain their interest in signing the 29-year-old.
Villa are in a difficult position as Vlaar’s current contract expires next summer and even their improved offer of £50,000-a-week is unlikely to convince the Netherlands international to stay, according to the Daily Star.
As a result the Birmingham side may be forced to sell the defender in January in order to make some money from him, with £4m thought to be enough to clinch the deal.
