The 19-year-old is now arguably the Reds most important player following several excellent displays from the youngster over the past year.

This terrific form has already reportedly sparked the interest of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona and Marsh thinks that it won’t be long before Sterling is tempted into moving to one of Europe’s powerhouses.

“I know I am going to get pelted by Liverpool supporters but I don’t see Raheem Sterling being a Liverpool player in the next two years,” the ex-England international said, speaking on the Sports Bar.

“I think he will leave Liverpool and go to a really top club.

“I think Sterling is so good, and if he is playing with the right players, at the right level, he could go on to be a top, super player.”

The youngster was back in training with Liverpool on Wednesday after spending the last week on international duty with England.

Sterling has been at the centre of a club v country debate after he was dropped from the Three Lions Euro 2016 qualifier against Estonia because he told manager Roy Hodgson that he was tired.
