The Spanish giants are in need of some strengthening in the middle of the season after an inconsistent start to the 2014/15 campaign, with the team looking short in several key positions.

Carlo Ancelotti has some main targets in mind for the club, and his transfer plans could mean bad news for United and the way they conduct their business in the transfer market this winter.

The Red Devils stand to lose two key players of their own in this double raid, while one of the club’s top targets could also escape them:

1) David de Gea

According to claims in the Independent, Real Madrid are planning to bid for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea. The Spanish shot-stopper could be an ideal long-term replacement for Iker Casillas at the Bernabeu and has caught the eye with some superb recent form at Old Trafford, most notably with some match-winning saves in a recent 2-1 win over Everton.
